Dr. Sungu Armagan is a Teaching Professor in the College of Business at Florida International University (FIU), where she has been a dedicated faculty member since 2006. She earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on Organizational Behavior and a minor in Social Psychology from the University of Utah, laying the foundation for a career committed to understanding and elevating human experience at work.
A trailblazer in her field, Dr. Armagan created and began teaching the world’s first business course on “Happiness at Work” in 2013 at FIU. Her groundbreaking approach to business education and student experience has earned her teaching and other awards and recognition as a passionate, impactful, and inspiring educator and advisor. She has taught a range of transformative courses, including Happiness at Work, Negotiations, International Negotiations, Organizational Behavior, International Human Resource Management, High-Involvement Human Resource Management, Organization & Management, and Crisis Management at undergraduate/graduate levels.
Dr. Armagan is deeply committed to her students. She teaches with a pure heart, listens with intention, and believes in the power of mutual learning. Her classroom is not just a place of knowledge—but of inspiration, reflection, and growth.
Her research and teaching are centered around a powerful question: How can we lead lives—and careers—rooted in joy, excellence, and purpose?
