The purpose of this lab course is to provide students with hands-on experiences that will benefit their future careers. You will be working with humans taking measurements which will provide information relevant to evaluating the individual’s physical fitness. Many of these assessments will invade the “personal space” of the subject. Therefore, students should practice a professional manner and attitude while performing these labs. Exhibit respect for your subject, ask permission and whenever possible demonstrate on yourself what you are about to do. Further, it is expected that you will use your experiences, knowledge and critical thinking to analyze the results.
This expectation of professionalism will extend to preparing and participating in the lab experience as well. It is expected that you will have previously read the directions for the lab protocol scheduled for the day, planned your actions and taken any quiz required. It is the student’s responsibility to submit the required written lab report on the appropriate due date. It is expected that they will follow the guidelines available within the syllabus and grading sheet. Additionally, it is anticipated that the student will take any exam or quiz on the designated day. Not complying with these expectations will jeopardize their final grade in this course.
