About the Author
Keri Watson

Keri Watson is an associate professor of art history at the University of Central Florida. She received her Ph.D. in 2010 from Florida State University and specializes in modern and contemporary art and the history of photography. Her research has been supported by two National Endowment for the Arts grants, and she has published on topics ranging from Walt Disney’s Silly Symphonies, to Patricia Cronin’s public sculpture, Eudora Welty’s photography, and Judy Chicago’s feminist pedagogy. She has curated exhibitions on sideshow banners and photographs, the photography of the civil rights movement, the history of immigration in Alabama, the women’s art movement, and the Florida landscape. Most recently she was included in the anthology Disability and Art History, edited by Ann Millet-Gallant and Elizabeth Howie and published by Routledge. Currently, she is researching the intersections of text, image, race, and disability in Depression-era photo-books.
