Dr. Catherine H. Banks is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Peace College, Raleigh NC. She received a B.A. in Chemistry from Wittenberg University and a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University. After a five year postdoctoral position at Texas A&M University synthesizing organoarsenical compounds, she taught at Texas State University-San Marcos. She then joined the faculty at Peace College where she teaches General and Organic Chemistry as well as Biochemistry.

Dr. Alton J. Banks is Professor of Chemistry and an Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. His BA degree is from the University of West Georgia, in Carrollton, GA, and his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. His 30-plus years of teaching and research have been spent at Texas A&M University (College Station, TX), Texas State University(San Marcos), and North Carolina State University. While trained as a heavy-metal chemist, Dr. Banks has spent most of his career in chemical education.
