Amy Hoffman graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University with a double major in Anthropology and German and a minor in European History. Within Anthropology, her focus centered on archaeology, anatomy, and human evolution. During this time, she studied archaeology in the Southwestern United States and German culture and history abroad in Germany.
She then received two Master of Science degrees at the University of North Texas. Her first Master of Science was focused on Environmental Archaeology in the Four Corners Region concentrated on dietary trends within the Ancestral Puebloans. Here she analyzed over 14,000 animal bones at the end of their depopulation within the region at approximately A. D. 1300. Her second Master of Science was in Environmental Science centered on biology and ecology, or how humanity impacts and interacts with nature.
Since 2014, Amy has taught biology courses at several community colleges within North Texas.
